FAQ

Emergency Tree Jack – Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Emergency Tree Jack designed for?

The Emergency Tree Jack is a mechanical lifting tool designed to help safely stabilize and lift trees in emergency, storm-damage, or high-risk situations. It provides controlled lifting power when a fallen tree is pinched, trapped, or resting against a structure.

What types of trees can it be used on?

The Emergency Tree Jack can be used on hardwood and softwood trees within the product's rated weight limits. Always ensure the tree is already supported by a stable structure and cannot roll, slide, or drop further during setup and operation of the jack.

Is the Emergency Tree Jack a replacement for tree removal services?

No. It is a lifting and support tool, not a removal service. It assists professionals by stabilizing or lifting trapped trees to create a safer working environment.

Can homeowners use the Emergency Tree Jack?

The Emergency Tree Jack is designed primarily for trained operators such as tree service professionals, emergency responders, and storm-damage crews.

Does it come with the chain or rope?

No. Chains or ropes are not included. A high-strength chain or rated synthetic rope must be used to secure the jack to the tree.

How do I secure the Emergency Tree Jack during use?
Two steps are essential for safe installation:
  1. Use a high-strength chain or rope to secure the jack to the base of the tree.
  2. Insert pins through the base holes to anchor the jack firmly into the ground.
Can the Emergency Tree Jack be used to lift a tree off a house?

It will only lift the tree a few inches off the structure and only if the tree is already fully supported and stable enough to safely install the jack. The jack is designed to suspend the tree slightly so that it can be more safely removed by cranes, grapples, skid loaders, or other primary tree removal equipment. The jack is not designed to support a free-hanging or unstable load.

What is the weight capacity?

The Emergency Tree Jack comes in two capacity options: a 10-ton model and a 5-ton model. Always ensure you are using the correct model for your load and staying within the manufacturer’s rated limits. Exceeding these limits can result in equipment failure or serious injury.

Does the Emergency Tree Jack come with a warranty?

Yes. It includes a limited manufacturer warranty on defects in materials and workmanship. Please refer to our warranty page for details.

Can I return the Emergency Tree Jack?

Unused, unopened units can be returned within 30 days. Used or weather-exposed units cannot be returned.  Customer is required to pay shipping cost and any applicable associated fees.

Note: The Emergency Tree Jack is a professional tool designed for hazardous situations. Always follow all safety guidelines, stay outside the arc of movement, and never stand under or near a supported tree.
